Purbalingga is one of regencies in the area of ex Banyumas Residency. For the first time I visited Kerkop Purbalingga / Poerbolinggo Kerkhof / Cemetary in Purbalingga on Wednesday, 22nd May 2013 with Santi Rahayu, my new friend from SPEC Purwokerto. I visited it for the last time on 18 August 2018 with new transportation from Purwokerto to Purbalingga by TRANS JATENG.

Kerkop Purbalingga is about 30 km in the east of Purwokerto city. If you want to go to Kerkop Purbalingga from Purwokerto city (Bus Station Purwokerto), the best way to go there by TRANS JATENG and your bus trans stop at BRT Jalan Let. Jend. S. Parman. You only pay Rp 4.000,00 (Four Thousand Rupiah) and it is very cheap to take 40 minutes from Purwokerto to Purbalingga. BRT means an area for stopping bus trans. From BRT Jalan Let. Jend. S. Parman, you only need to go on a walk takes 3 minutes.

Two photos of Kerkop Purbalingga / Poerbolinggo kerkhof (Cemetary in Purbalingga) or it is also Hutan Kota Kerkop Purbalingga. It is located in Kelurahan Purbalingga Wetan (Wetan means Eastern in Javanese), Subdistrict Purbalingga. Total area of Hutan Kota now is 3.810 m2. It is on Let. Jend. S. Parman’s street Purbalingga or it is about 4 km in the south of Town Square Purbalingga. There are still Dutch graves in this graveyard but unfortunately I could only read 16 marble epitaphs in this graveyard.

There are many missing epitaphs from Dutch gravestone so I didn’t know who other people buried in this graveyard. Thank you so much for your visit to Kerkop Purbalingga.

From Kerkop Purbalingga, if you want to go to Town Square (Alun-Alun Purbalingga), you could go by ANGKOT (local minibus ‘orange’) number 4 or 5. If you want to go back straight to Purwokerto city again, across the street of S. Parman, walk to BRT takes 3 minutes. If you want to visit Town Square Purwokerto, your bus trans stop at BRT Jalan Pereng near Alun-alun.
